International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA)
"The International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions(IFLA), representing libraries in 150 countries, believes that all people must have “universal and equitable access to information, ideas and works of imagination for their social, educational, cultural, democratic and economic well-being.” We are deeply concerned that such access is not available to visually impaired people, and therefore support both the adoption of the treaty for the visually impaired now before WIPO as well as the complementary “stakeholders” activity initiated by DG Gurry. The problem is so acute that multiple approaches are required to ensure that visually impaired people are able to enjoy the fundamental human right of access to information. "
